Coolant for Tesla Model S
The Model S has been built since 2012, so many of them are past ten years old. On such a car replacing a pump, a hose or the radiator is routine, and that is when you need fluid. The type is the same: G-48, ethylene glycol, phosphate-free.

Photographs come from the manufacturer's official materials.
Cooling system volume (litres) 17.2 to 19.8 litres from dry (60 to P90D)
How much you will need
Tesla's service manual gives Model S capacities by version, from 60 to P90D: 17.2 to 19.8 litres from dry. Right-hand-drive versions take slightly more.
| Model | Version | Litres, fill from dry | Zerex G48 bottles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model S | 60 to P90D | 17.2 – 19.8 | 3 |
A fill from dry is done through a Toolbox routine with a vacuum refill tool, so it is a workshop job. A partial top-up often needs one or two bottles. For a newer Model S, from 2021 on, we confirm by VIN.
