Valvoline Zerex antifreeze concentrates

We currently carry four products: three for Asian cars and one, Zerex G48, for Tesla and European cars. All four are concentrates and need diluting. The difference is not the colour itself but which factory fluid each one replaces.

How to choose

A Tesla or a European car? Your product is Zerex G48. Every Tesla uses a G-48 type coolant, and Valvoline's sheet lists G48 as meeting the Tesla specification. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini and Volvo are printed on the bottle too. The details are on the Tesla page.

An Asian car? Look at the colour of the fluid in the expansion tank. Blue means Zerex Asian Blue, green means Zerex Asian Green, and pink or red means Zerex Asian Red.

In practice that means Subaru, Honda, Acura and blue-filled Nissans run the blue, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi and green-filled Nissans run the green, while Toyota, Lexus and Scion run the red.

G48 and Asian Blue are both blue, but they are different chemistries and neither replaces the other. If you are unsure, call us and we will tell you from the car.

Frequently asked questions

Will you carry other colours?
Yes, the range is growing. This page always shows what is in stock at the moment.
Do all four cost the same?
At the moment, yes: all four come in the same 3.78 litre concentrate and cost the same.
Which one is for a Tesla?
Zerex G48. Every Tesla uses a G-48 type, phosphate-free ethylene glycol coolant, and Valvoline's official sheet lists G48 as meeting the Tesla specification. Do not put Asian Zerex into a Tesla, because it is phosphated.
